Periodization: Dividing training routine into segments of different intensities.

Polyunsaturated fat: Type of "good" fatty acid that can lower blood cholesterol levels.

Post exercise energy expenditure: Amount of energy expended above resting levels following exercise.

Progressive resistance: This is a strength training method in which the overload is constantly increased to facilitate adaptation.

Protein: One of the body’s nutrients that builds and repairs tissues. Protein is made of amino acids that are in complete and incomplete forms.

Complete proteins come from a food that contains all of the essential acids. Foods derived from animal sources such as beef, chicken, fish, eggs and milk naturally contain all of the essential amino acids.

Incomplete proteins are those foods which may have some of the essential amino acids, but not all. These include vegetables, fruits, grains, seeds and nuts.

Push pull routine: Training method in which the exercises that are performed during a workout is different from the next workout day. So exercises that move the bones away from the body are done on a different day than exercises that move the bones into the body.
